God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of (the consequence of) what they have done that perhaps they will return (to righteousness). Lunar Eclipse
It’s an amazing and interesting phenomenon. Old people said many myths about it, but 14 Century ago and before NASA Scientists Islam told us about this phenomenon . . .Robert Massey an astronomer in the British astronomical assembly announced that “we the scientists don’t value this phenomenon, but many people enjoys watching it “DR Massey had concluded this result after many years of researches and studies.
But for many centuries, people used to consider lunar eclipse and solar eclipse are frightening phenomena. They believed that when solar eclipse happens, it means a dragon swallowed the sun or an important person died or that a dangerous event will occur.
We consider prophet Mohamed “peace be upon him “the first man to put the scientific basis for these phenomena (lunar eclipse and solar eclipse). He said about both of them" sun and moon are just two signs of God be he blessed and they don’t disappear for the birth or death of any one. If you see these phenomena, prayer to God and ask him for relieve” (Agreed).
From the hadith, we understand that the phenomenon of lunar eclipse is not important and has no effect on human or their future. It is just a cosmic phenomenon to indicate that our creator is great and his creation is precise.
How Does Lunar Eclipse Happen?
A lunar eclipse is an eclipse which occurs whenever the moon passes behind the earth such that the earth blocks the sun’s rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle.
Lunar eclipse happens at least once a year, and we can see it if we are on the other side of earth which is facing the moon. At this moment if we are sitting on the moon we can see the solar eclipse (earth will be disappeared) because sun will be behind earth but we can see earth is surrounded by a magnificent red ring.
(Each in an orbit floating)(Surat Al-Anbiya’- verse 33) this scientific fact is responsible for the phenomenon of lunar eclipse. This phenomenon happens when moon passes behind the earth such that the earth blocks the sun’s rays from striking the moon
Firman Allah Taala: Dan Dia lah (Tuhan) yang telah menjadikan malam dan siang, serta matahari dan bulan; tiap-tiap satunya beredar terapung-apung di tempat edaran masing-masing (di angkasa lepas).
God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming. (21:33)
During The phenomenon of lunar eclipse , moon speed is about one kilometer per second and usually it lasts for about one hundred minute .during the partial lunar eclipse we can see the moon as a glowing reddish coppery disk . That glowing is because clouds and dust which obstruct the incoming rays from the moon.
Temperature on surface of the lighted moon by sun is about 130 degree centigrade, so if we put the water on that surface it will boil immediately!!But when earth became between moon and sun (lunar eclipse) temperature on surface of the moon became -99 degree centigrade under zero.

Scientists Discover A New Planet
Earth is smaller than the Sun by three hundred thousand times, but imagine if earth was the same size as the sun . . . then life would be impossible. Hence this is a grace from Allah . . .
In early 2009, Scientists discovered a planet with the same size as Jupiter which revolves around a relatively cold star (Half mass of the Sun) ,and that star is old and known as "Red Giant" and it is twenty light years away from Earth.
Although this planet is so near to its sun, but it is a cold and desolated planet because its sun is dimmed and is not as dazzling as our sun. Here, we remember the grace of the Sun which Allah subjugates to us as it is dazzling and not dimmed. Allah says: (And have appointed a dazzling lamp) (An-Naba: 13)
Firman Allah Taala: Dan Kami telah mengadakan matahari menjadi lampu yang terang-benderang cahayanya?
God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: And made [therein] a burning lamp (78:13)
A Picture which was published by the "National Geographic" website, it shows us a planet revolving around a Sun which is equal to its size, and of course the planet is free of any life because of the cold on its surface.
Of course my dears, we cite these scientific discoveries to expand our vision for the universe, and to recognize the greatness of Allah. Thinking about the creation of the universe is no less than the cult of praying and Hajj (pilgrimage).
When we see this planet that Allah created as the size as its sun which is orbiting around it, we remember Allah's blessing which subjugate our earth in the right size and distance from the sun, and to enjoy warmth of life on its Ground. Allah says: (And if you would count the favors of Allah, never could you be able to count them. Truly! Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful . . .) (An-Nahl: 18)
Firman Allah Taala: Dan jika kamu menghitung nikmat Allah (yang dilimpahkannya kepada kamu), tiadalah kamu akan dapat menghitungnya satu persatu; sesungguhnya Allah Maha Pengampun, lagi Maha Mengasihani.
God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: And if you should count the favors of Allah , you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. (16:18)

Speed of Light in Holy Quran
Behind a great verse, there is a hidden signal to the speed of light. Recently that signal was discovered by scientists, God says: (And verily, a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you reckon.) . . .
If we observe the moon from outside the solar system, we can see that moon is revolving a complete round around earth every 27.3 day , but because earth revolves around itself so we see the moon is completing the round every 29.5 day.
The moon revolves around earth a complete round every month, but because earth is also revolving around itself and in the same direction so that we see the month is 29.5 day but in fact it only takes 27.3days for the moon to complete the round. The question is what is the traveled distance by the moon around earth in 1000 year?
A Muslim scientist put forward an idea which is: the holy verse refers to 2 equal times and that is some kind of the relatively. God be He blessed says: (And verily, a day with your Lord is as a 1000 years of what you reckon) (Surat Al-Hajj- verse 47), so we have a day and a 1000 year, how can we make them equal? And what is the common factor?
Firman Allah Taala: Dan mereka meminta kepadamu (wahai Muhammad) menyegerakan kedatangan azab, padahal Allah tidak sekali-kali akan memungkiri janjiNya; dan (kata-kanlah kepada mereka): sesungguhnya satu hari dari hari-hari azab di sisi Tuhanmu adalah menyamai 1000 tahun dari yang kamu hitung.
God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a 1000 years of those which you count. (22:47)
Scientists consider the speed of light is a distinguished speed and there is no object can be able to reach that speed. So whenever the speed of an object increases therefore the time for that object will slow down. Therefore if any object reached the speed of light, the time will stop for that object. that is the summary of Theory of relativity.
A photo for the real distance between moon and earth .The moon revolves around earth in a non- circular (Oblate) orbit .Distance between both of them is about 384 thousand km. Moon revolves around earth in a speed of 1 km/second. According to the Interna-tional standards, speed of the light in the empty space is 299792 km/second.
If we called the mentioned day in the verse with "the cosmic day" to distinguish it from our ordinary day so according to the holy verse (And verily, a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you reckon) we can write the equation as the following:
"One cosmic day" = "one thousand year (according to our calculations)"
So, there is a hidden relationship between length of the day and length of the one thousand year. What is the relation?
1. Calculation of the length of the one thousand year
The determination of months and years is based on the movement of the moon. so the month for us is a one complete round for the moon around the earth. We know that moon revolves one round every month around earth, so it will be 12 rounds in the year. God says: (Verily, the number of months with Allah is 12 months (in a year) (Surat at-Taubah- verse 36)
Firman Allah Taala: Sesungguhnya bilangan bulan-bulan di sisi (hukum) Allah ialah 12 bulan, (yang telah ditetapkan) dalam Kitab Allah semasa Ia menciptakan langit dan bumi, di antaranya 4 bulan yang dihormati. Ketetapan yang demikian itu ialah ugama yang betul lurus, maka janganlah kamu menganiaya diri kamu dalam bulan-bulan yang dihormati itu (dengan melanggar laranganNya); dan perangilah kaum kafir musyrik seluruhnya sebagaimana mereka memerangi kamu seluruhnya; dan ketahuilah sesung-guhnya Allah beserta orang-orang yang bertaqwa.
God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: Indeed, the number of months with Allah is 12 [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, 4 are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them. And fight against the disbelievers collectively as they fight against you collectively. And know that Allah is with the righteous [who fear Him].
In a simple calculation based on the real month, the moon travels 2152612.27 km around earth in compete round. This distance represents the length of the orbit that the moon takes while a complete round during one month.
So the distance per year is: 2152612.27 × 12 = 25831347 km
And in one thousand year is: 25831347 × 1000= 25831347000 km
2. Calculation of the length of the one day
The day is 24 hours and in seconds it is: 86164 seconds according to the International standards.
Right now, we have the value of 1000 year "25831347000km" which is "the distance" and we have the length of the day "86164 second" which is "the time".
Hence, to realize the hidden relation between distance and time we can use the known formula:
Speed = distance ÷ time
After applying these figures in the formula we can see the surprise which is:
The cosmic speed = 25831347000 ÷ 86164 = 299792 km\second which is exactly the speed of the light.
Therefore we can realize that the signal in the holy verse is the speed of light by liking "the one day" and "the 1000 year". this is a scientific precedence for the Qur'an and it wouldn't be a coincidence.
Questions
Here are some questions that the reader of this article may face which can be summarized in the following:
1. Why we considered this verse as a signal for speed of light?
2. Why the Qur'an did not speak directly about the speed of light?
3. Does this research say that the divine order descends in the speed of light?
In fact the Qur'an contain many hidden signs which were Unintelligible in the previous years but at the suitable time it can be explained and became clear to understand the miracle and to be an evidence that message of Islam is sincere.
The holy verse linked between the day and the one thousand year and the relation is the value of the speed of light which is 299792, how can we explain the existence of that number in the Qur'an?
Faster than light
God be He blessed and exalted says: (He manages and regulates (every) affair from the heavens to the earth; then it (affair) will go up to Him, in one Day, the space whereof is a thousand years of your reckoning (i.e. reckoning of our present world’s time) (Surat As-Sajdah- verse 5).
Firman Allah Taala: Allah mentadbirkan makhluk-makhlukNya; (bagi melaksanakan tadbirNya itu Ia menurunkan segala sebab dan peraturan) dari langit ke bumi; kemu-dian diangkat naik kepada pengetahuanNya (segala yang berlaku dari perlaksanaan tadbirNya itu untuk dihakimiNya) pada suatu masa yang (dirasai oleh orang-orang yang bersalah) 1000 tahunnya menurut hitungan masa kamu yang biasa.
Skeptics say: does the divine order move with the speed of light? The answer is: we believe that there is a hidden signal in the verse about the speed of light. And concerning the verse: (then it (affair) will go up to Him, in one Day, the space whereof is a 1000 years) it means that the divine order goes up to Him (Allah) in the 7 heaven in one day or in 1000 year according to our time. But what does it mean?
Also God says: (He manages and regulates (every) affair from the heavens to the earth; then it (affair) will go up to Him, in one Day, the space whereof is a thousand years of your reckoning (i.e. reckoning of our present world’s time) (Surat As-Sajdah- verse 5)
Firman Allah Taala: Lalu Ia menjadikannya 7 langit, dalam 2 hari; dan Ia memberitahu kepada tiap-tiap langit akan urusan dan keperluannya masing-masing. Dan Kami hiasi langit yang dekat (pada pandangan mata penduduk bumi) dengan bintang-bintang yang bersinar cemerlang serta memelihara langit itu dengan sebaik-baiknya. Demi-kianlah ketentuan Allah Yang Maha Kuasa, lagi Maha Mengetahui (41:12).
In one day the light cross 25831347000 km and this distance is in the range of our solar system, so that the speed of light is not enough to cross the heaven which is in our world in one day , so that there must be another speed which is faster than the speed of light. Nowadays, Scientists believe in that.
Scientists started to observe some cosmic phenomena such as the dark matter and their believe in the existence of a speed which is faster than light is increasing, that was an idea by an American and British scientists.
Till now, there is no evidence that this speed is existed but we believe that Qur'an referred to that speed even before anyone else.
Attention
One of our sisters drawn our attention that we considered the cosmic day: 24 hours and every hour is 3600 second, on what bases was that consideration? The answer is that is a human diligence and our objective is to understand the koranic signal about the speed of light, and the cosmic day may be not like that and also there maybe many signs in that verse about another high cosmic speeds.
As our God be He blessed told us about the speed of the divine order and He be blessed associated it with the eye twinkling, God Almighty says in the Holy Quran:
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye. (Surat Al-Qamar – verse 50)
In another verse which talks about the coming of the day of resurrection as that day will come so quickly, God says: (And to Allah belongs the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. And the matter of the Hour is not but as a twinkling of the eye, or even nearer. Truly! Allah is Able to do all things.)(Surat An-Nahl- verse 77)
Firman Allah Taala: Dan hal Kami (dalam melaksanakan apa yang Kami kehendaki), hanyalah satu cara sahaja, (cepat jadinya) seperti sekelip mata.

God Almighty says in the Holy Quran: He arranges [each] matter from the heaven to the earth; then it will ascend to Him in a Day, the extent of which is a 1000 years of those which you count. (32:5)
And says in another verse: (The angels and the Ruh [Jibril (Gabriel)] ascend to Him in a Day the measure whereof is 50 thousand years.)(Surat Al-Ma‘arij- verse 4)
Firman Allah Taala: Yang dilalui oleh malaikat-malaikat dan Jibril ke pusat pemerin-tahanNya (untuk menerima dan menyempurnakan tugas masing-masing, terutama) pada satu masa yang adalah tempohnya 50 ribu tahun (dirasai oleh orang-orang yang bersalah) sungguh panjang, (kerana banyak hitungan hisab dan berat soal jawabnya). (70:4)
Let us to look attentively at these 2 expressions:
1. In one Day, the space whereof is a thousand years of your reckoning.
2. In a Day the measure whereof is fifty thousand years.
We intend to close this article by the following question: why did our God say in the first verse (of your reckoning) but He didn't mention that statement in the second verse? What does it mean?
